Just yesterday, a thoughtful woman came to me searching for a meaningful gift - something beautiful, personal and deeply thoughtful. She was celebrating someone very special: a dear friend who had turned 70 in March.

I was pleased to learn that the aquamarine gemstone is one of March’s birthstones, and a gem known for its calming energy, clarity, and connection to the sea. I selected two hues of aquamarine to give some dimension and then to bring a sense of gentle warmth and feminine grace, I paired them with mother-of-pearl...a new found love that I have and cherish, which is a luminous, nurturing stone that echoes inner wisdom and the soft strength found in nature.

Then came a beautiful twist.

She showed me out a pendant - seven interlocking rings - and asked if I could incorporate the idea somehow. I was stumped. While a pendant wouldn’t translate directly into a bracelet, I offered an alternative: seven silver-plated spacers, intentionally placed among the beads.

"Yup, that would work" was her reply. I had no idea why!

Once the bracelet was finished and met with her warm approval, I gently asked: “Would you mind telling me what the seven spacers stand for?”

Her answer touched me deeply.

Each one represents a decade of her life. 1 for each decade; seven decades - seven rings.
